I saw this on Twitter, “I wanted to be a veterinarian. But that school takes five years. And by the time I graduate, I would be 45.”, “Well, in five years, you’re gonna be 45 no matter what you do. So wouldn’t you rather be 45 and a vet?”
This line turns my mind over and I never thought things like that. I am also struggling with whether I want to pursue a doctorate. I am always worried about social factors, economic reasons, whether I can graduate successfully, and whether I will be too old after I get the Ph.D. So much other things stop me from the way.
So, just do what you want, the important thing is the process rather than the purpose, isn’t it? Just go for it.
